CORRELATIONS AMONG STOLON LENGTH, STOLON NUMBER, PLANT HEIGHT AND TUBER YIELD IN POTATO

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the correlations among morphologic trails (plant height, mean stolon length per plant, stolon number per plant) and tuber yield per plant in some potato varieties (Rosy, Jacrla, Tomensa), The results of the study indicated that there were significant negative correlations between plant height and stolon number (r = -0.721*) and between plant height and tuber yield (r = -0.787**). In contrast, there were no significant correlations between plant height and stolon length (r =0.633) and between stolon number and stolon length (r = - 0.508) and tuber yield (r = 0.528); between stolon length and tuber yield (r = -0.555)
